Center of Design Excellence, IIT Hyderabad

The RAMP-Center of Design Excellence (CoDE) at IIT Hyderabad represents a strategic collaboration between academia and the MSME industry, aimed at enhancing industrial capabilities through innovative design solutions.


The Centre will focus on the following key areas across three major functional areas:

  • New Product Innovations
  • Sustainable Infrastructure and Smart Cities
  • Emerging Technologies (UI/UX, VR, AR, MR, AI, etc.)
  • Graphics, Branding and strategy.
  • Heritage, crafts, and culture
  • Film & Animation

Objectives

Design Excellence: Provide design consultation, workshops, and prototyping facilities for superior product development.

Promote collaboration and networking among MSMEs, designers and experts for innovative, inclusive solutions and research.

Tech integration: Assist MSMEs in adopting cutting-edge technologies to enhance their products and processes.

Plug existing skill gaps and nurture design talent to improve individual and organisations capabilities.

Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP)

RAMP is a World Bank supported Central Sector Scheme aimed at improving access of MSMEs to market, finance and technology upgradation by enhancing the outreach of existing MoMSME schemes. The programme also aims at strengthening institutions at the Central and State level, and enhancing Centre- State collaboration.

Objectives

The main objectives of RAMP include strengthening coordination and institutions, building and integrating technology platforms, enhancing firm capabilities and access to markets, strengthening the receivables financing market, enhancing guarantee products to promote increased greening and gender participation, and expanding access to the Online Dispute Resolution Mechanism (ODR).
